I spent nine years at FHM magazine, climbing the ladder from freelancer to designer and eventually leading the team as art director. I oversaw more than 250 photoshoots – from beautiful models in exotic locations to the staff doing silly things for articles and everything in between.
I also wrote motoring articles, conducted celebrity Q&A's, and did CD , DVD and gaming reviews.
Almost every month included a supplement, from the annual calendar to the Lingerie and Swimsuit editions, Motoring and Gadget issues and the famous 100 Sexiest Women in the World edition. At one point, as the leading men's lifestyle publication in South Africa, we were selling well over 100 000 issues a month, with the largest reaching nearly 120 000 issues.
During this time, we also launched the weekly Heat and Zoo magazines, which became hugely popular in their own rights.
